The Future Vision of the Department :-
In order to be with the scientific development and supporting the Iraq society with the faculties and scientific staff who are able to lead the developing movement in our country , the English department is looking forward to :
1- Providing the state institutions in the government with the staffs who are able to responsible of carrying the burdens of the new generations in the way that guarantees best future in the field of English language.
2- Training staffs who are in the field of service in the ministry of education and other institutions for making them aware of the latest theories and studies concerning teaching English language.
3- Coordinating with the ministry of higher education that is described as the supreme foundation and other institutions in the field of teaching English language.
4- Planning to connect the students of the department with the worldly universities to achieve a wider learning and the extreme making use in this field.
5- Urging the students to the higher studies out the country in the British and USA universities to enforce what they studied during the studying years in the department to complete their studying project.
6- Urging the instructors in the department to participate in training and developing courses out the country to be aware on the latest teaching technology.
7- Supporting the department with the recent worldly techniques in the teaching technology .
The Aims of the Department :-
The general objectives which the department of English language tries to carry out in its programs are as follow:
1- Preparing a generation of teachers for the intermediate and secondary teaching who have the ability to teach the items of English language in these teaching courses.
2- Preparing a graduate who can use English language in its four skills ( understanding, speaking, reading, and writing.
3- Helping the students of reviewing what they acquired of the linguistic skills in the previous learning stages and deepening , enforcing and developing them.
4- Helping the students of depending on themselves in understanding what they learnt and heard in English language out theprevious studying limit.
5- Qualifying the students perfectly to continue in the higher studies programs.
6- Creating student personality which is balanced emotionally and in behavior.
7- Developing the literary and aesthetic taste in the students through teaching English language.
8- Renovating the latest scientific techniques to achieve the complementary in the other methodological fields and using them through describing them as an essential part in the teaching program of the department.
9- Working to acquiring the specific specialization in addition to the cultural, educational and methodological aspects.
