Under the Patronage of the President of Diyala University, Professor Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and the Supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Luay Saihoud Al-Tamimi, and in response to the call of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, our college organized a celebration commemorating the seventh anniversary of the great Iraqi victory over the terrorist Daesh (ISIS) gangs.
The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Iraqi flag, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and a reading of Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq’s martyrs. The Dean then delivered a speech in which he emphasized that this occasion marks the seventh anniversary of the historic victory over Daesh—a triumph written with the blood of our heroic martyrs and etched by the patriotic spirit and determination that characterized our nation’s struggle against the forces of evil and darkness.
The Dean expressed pride in the grand contributions of Iraq’s esteemed religious authorities and their honorable national stances, particularly embodied in the issuance of the Kafai Jihad fatwa. This call was courageously answered by men who kept their promises to God, including members of our Popular Mobilization Forces and valiant security forces, who broke the power of Daesh, achieved victory over its terrorism, and protected the region and the world from its malevolence.
The Dean also urged attendees to draw lessons from this victory to continue efforts in combating terrorism, fostering concepts of societal peace, and adopting values of coexistence. He encouraged members of the academic community to play a pivotal role in raising awareness on campus to counteract foreign ideologies threatening Iraqi society. He concluded by honoring the sacrifices of our noble martyrs, who stood against one of the most brutal onslaughts embodied by Daesh, offering their precious souls to protect the land of prophets and messengers from the desecration of darkness and its agents.
