
College of Education for Humanities Holds a Scientific Seminar on Privacy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Who Monitors Our Data?
The Arabic Language Department at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Diyala, held a scientific seminar entitled “Privacy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Who Monitors Our Data?” The seminar, presented by Assistant Professor Ghazwan Khalid Awda, was attended by a number of faculty members and students.The seminar aimed to highlight the concept of privacy in light of the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, explain the mechanisms for collecting and using personal data, and identify the entities that monitor it. It also addressed the risks and challenges associated with privacy violations, emphasizing the importance of responsible and ethical use of technology.The seminar discussed the impact of using digital applications and social media in data collection and analysis, raising questions about the boundaries of privacy and individuals’ rights to control their personal information. It stressed the need to enhance digital awareness and understand the challenges related to data protection in the modern era.The seminar concluded with a number of recommendations, most notably: strengthening public awareness of digital privacy, updating legal frameworks, encouraging the use of data protection technologies, integrating AI ethics into educational curricula, and enhancing cooperation among institutions to ensure the safe and equitable use of modern technologies. This seminar is in line with Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by supporting the safe use of technology and promoting responsible innovation.
