
The College of Education for Humanities Holds a Qur’anic Gathering on the Occasion of the National Day of the Holy Qur’anCollege
Media OfficeUnder the patronage of the President of the University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Luay Sayhood Al-Tamimi, and in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Media and Government Communication Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Student Activities Unit at the college, organized a blessed Qur’anic gathering on the occasion of the National Day of the Holy Qur’an. The event was held under the slogan “The Qur’an Is the Spring of Our Hearts” at the Allama Mustafa Jawad Hall.The gathering aimed to enhance religious and cultural awareness among students and to reinforce moral and human values derived from the Holy Qur’an, contributing to the development of a balanced university personality capable of serving society.The program was moderated by Dr. Hussam Ghadban, who opened the event with a welcoming address highlighting the great status of the Holy Qur’an in the lives of Muslims. He emphasized its central role in refining character and building individuals and communities on the foundations of noble values, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, as well as the educational and intellectual impact of adhering to its teachings on both academic and practical life paths.The gathering witnessed wide participation from male and female students of the college’s academic departments, who presented reverent recitations of selected verses from the Holy Qur’an. Their participation reflected a strong commitment to Qur’anic learning and proper recitation, within a spiritual atmosphere marked by humility and active engagement from the audience.At the conclusion of the Qur’anic gathering, the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Luay Sayhood Al-Tamimi, honored the participants who contributed to commemorating this blessed occasion by awarding them certificates of appreciation, in recognition of their efforts and active participation, and in encouragement of continued involvement in religious and cultural activities that reinforce authentic values within the university community.This activity contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4, “Quality Education” by supporting values-based and cultural education, strengthening a moderate religious identity, and promoting cognitive awareness that helps build conscious generations capable of contributing to sustainable development.
