
College of Education for Humanities Holds Awareness Seminar on the Role of University Students in Reducing Drug Spread
The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Diyala, held a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of University Students in Reducing the Phenomenon of Drug Spread.” The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Khalid Najm Mahmoud and attended by a number of faculty members and students.The seminar aimed to highlight the pivotal role of university students in reducing drug spread, recognizing them as active members of society capable of positively influencing their social and cultural environment. The seminar addressed the seriousness of this phenomenon, which is considered a modern challenge to our society, given its severe health, psychological, social, and economic consequences for individuals and families. This necessitates concerted efforts from all relevant parties to confront and curb its spread.The speaker emphasized the importance of harnessing the energies of university students in raising community awareness, promoting a culture of prevention, and instilling ethical and national values that contribute to protecting society from this scourge. He pointed out that university students represent a vital link between the educational institution and the community.
