
College of Education for Humanities Organizes Training Course on Leveraging Artificial Intelligence as a Research Assistant
The English Department at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Diyala, organized a training course entitled: “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence as a Research Assistant: From Concept Development to Preliminary Draft.” The course was presented by Lecturer Shrouq Talab Jaafar, with the participation of several researchers and graduate students.The course aimed to empower participants to utilize artificial intelligence techniques as a supporting tool in various stages of scientific research, starting from developing the research idea and formulating the problem statement, through building the theoretical framework and reviewing the literature, to preparing the preliminary research draft according to sound scientific principles.The course focused on the systematic and ethical use of artificial intelligence tools in generating research ideas, formulating research questions and hypotheses, organizing references, summarizing previous studies, improving academic writing, as well as refining language and style. The course also addressed mechanisms for critically evaluating AI outputs to ensure originality and scientific accuracy, and to avoid plagiarism or uncontrolled reliance on the tool.The course’s themes align with the fourth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education), by enhancing digital research skills and improving the efficiency of researchers, thereby supporting the quality of education and scientific research in academic institutions.
