
Dean of the College of Education for Humanities Lectures at an Educational Workshop on “Body Language”
Professor Dr. Luay Sayhood Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities at Diyala University, lectured at an educational workshop entitled “Body Language.”The workshop, held for members of the Personal Protection Department at the Diyala Governorate Police Command, addressed the importance of nonverbal communication and its active role in enhancing interpersonal communication skills in various aspects of life.It discussed the concept of body language as a means of expression that reflects feelings and thoughts through gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice, and various body movements, as well as its impact on building self-confidence and achieving effective communication with others.The workshop also included a review of the most prominent meanings of body movements and signals, and how to use them positively in dialogue and daily interactions, in addition to emphasizing the importance of eye contact and facial expressions in conveying messages clearly and credibly.The workshop emphasized the importance of developing individuals’ nonverbal communication skills, given their significant role in personal development and enhancing academic and social success. It called for leveraging these skills in educational and professional environments.The workshop recommended prioritizing a culture of dialogue and developing effective communication skills to contribute to building successful and positive interpersonal relationships.This workshop aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4, “Quality Education,” through the development of interpersonal and communication skills, and Goal 16, “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions,” by promoting a culture of dialogue and positive understanding among individuals.
