The College of Education for Humanities Organizes a Scientific Workshop on the SIS Electronic SystemCollege Media OfficeThe College of Education for Humanities at the University of Diyala organized a scientific workshop today, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, on the SIS electronic system.During the workshop, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Luay Sayhood Al-Tamimi, explained that the SIS system is an integrated electronic platform designed to manage students’ academic and administrative data in Iraqi universities. The system enables students to register for courses, follow up on results, and update their personal data, while allowing university administrations to automate processes such as attendance tracking, grade management, and fee payments. This contributes to facilitating digital transformation in education and reducing reliance on paper-based procedures. The system aims to enhance digital transformation in Iraqi universities as a step toward comprehensive digitization of university services, reducing paperwork and overcrowding, and providing a unified application across public and private universities. It also facilitates the recognition of academic study and supports government employment procedures. The workshop clarified the main functions of the SIS system, which include academic registration that allows students to enroll in courses electronically, add and drop subjects, and monitor grades and examination results as soon as they are released. The system also enables students to update their personal and academic information, download official documents such as transcripts and enrollment certificates electronically, track the payment of tuition fees, receive official notifications and academic decisions, communicate with the college, and view weekly lecture schedules along with their links. This workshop contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 17, Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes strengthening implementation mechanisms and revitalizing global partnerships for sustainable development.
